About the Foundation
Our Mission
ST. MARY’S MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION, INC is the charitable arm of St. Mary’s Medical Center. We are committed to improving the physical comfort and well-being of our adult and pediatric patients and families during their stay, and promoting the health and welfare of our community. Supported by caring and generous donors, we offer hope, compassion and dignity through our philanthropic programs.
History of The Foundation
Originally incorporated on August 29, 2006 as the Auxiliary of St Mary’s Medical Center, Inc, our purpose was to minister to the non-medical needs of the patients of St. Mary’s Medical Center as a public charity. In 2009, the IRS granted our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status. The focus of our organization soon included promoting the health and welfare of the community, while also improving the physical comfort and mental well-being of patients at St. Mary’s Medical Center and encouraging recovery. Services and items provided vary depending on the needs of the patient. Started with an all-volunteer board that continues to this day, community volunteerism is encouraged as an important way to provide reassurance and cheer to hospitalized adults and children. Community support through financial and in-kind donations are the lifeline in fulfilling our mission.
In 2018, the Auxiliary changed its name to St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation, Inc. It also conducts business as the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital Foundation.
